by the Sun King (Louis XIV) and his successor, Louis XV.
Music by Hotteterre, Marais, Blavet, Philidor, and others.

Mediterraneo II: More Music from Byzantium to Iberia
Special Guests Kane Mathis and
Ruthie Dornfeld join
the Baroque Northwest Trio (Ronnee Fullerton,
Elizabeth Brown, Gus Denhard) to play Traditional,
Renaissance, and Baroque music from Turkey, Iberia,
North Africa, and other countries.

The Art of the Lute Song
Eric Mentzel, tenor, and August Denhard,
lutes, present a concert program
encompassing 250 years of the lute song repertory: from its first flowerings
in fifteenth-century France, through the Elizabethan Golden Age, to the
early Baroque experiments that would develop into opera. Composers
include Pierre Attaingnant, Franciscus Bossinensis, John Dowland, Henry
Lawes, Pierre Gudron, Giulio Caccini, Claudio Monteverdi, Henry Purcell,
and others.
